Orphan Annie, read your post of 8 days ago. Sorry to hear of the ill treatment you and your husband received when the JWs came by to visit. There is no excuse for their behavior. You deserved better and may God see to that and comfort you during your time of need.

My son was murdered today
by truman ini have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

The June 2012 citation of Ephraim Stern
by Doug Mason inpage 14 of the awake!

Good detection Doug Mason. I always had the impression that the entire nation of Israel (including the region of Benjamin) suffered defeat by the Babylonians. Benjamin, apparently, was hardly affected.
“However, he (Stern) makes it abundantly clear that the Benjamin region of northern Judah did not suffer; indeed Benjamin prospered during the period.”
WT needs to make an adjustment in the Insight Vol. 1 book page 289 par 4 where it reads and gives the impression that Benjamin also was taken into exile: “Following the exile in Babylon, the tribes of Benjamin and Judah were most prominent among the restored Israelites in Palestine”

Hypocritical statement in the July 15th Watchtower denouncing those who "forsake" family members on religious grounds
by cedars ini've had a quick glance through the july 15th watchtower, and at first reading there seems nothing too dramatic to report.. the title of the first article "let jehovah guide you to true freedom" seemed ironic to say the least.
not surprisingly, the way you get more freedom is by relinquishing it entirely to the watch tower society.
there is also a bizarre statement in the very first paragraph of the article on page 7 (bold highlighted remarks are mine):.

“just one more very recent example of Watchtower hypocrisy.”
Excellent observation Cedars. The New Testament cautions close to 30 times about the need to guard against hypocrisy. For example Romans 12:9 states …”Let YOUR love be without hypocrisy.”
Paragraph 9 (above) clearly is another example of how JWs are two-faced. WT magazine is indeed the epitome of hypocrisy!

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 04-08-2012 WT Study (WATCHFULNESS)

how to be watchful in prayer.

The last sentence in par 10 asks: "Can we more closely imitate Jesus' watchful example, perhaps by striving to be increasingly alert to opportunities to share the good news with people we meet in our day-to-day life?"
I don’t mind identifying myself as a Christian and sharing some beneficial Bible truth with individuals. However, I find that I’m more and more reluctant to identify myself as a JW due to the JW reputation of being (1) hypocrites, (2) loveless toward their own and (3) inaccurate in an abundance of Bible doctrine.

Victoria, Australia: A MUST READ-Transcript of audio recording of WT letter read to all Victoria congs Oct/Nov. 2011 re: Working With Children Act
by AndersonsInfo insee www.jwnews.net, steven unthank's private blog site where he posted the following material.
i enlarged and put in bold the third paragraph of the wt's letter where the elder, an ex-bethelite, made some fascinating errors while reading the letter by using the words, "borg" and "perp.
" does this mean what i think it means?

“It is a pleasure to be working with you in holding high Jehovah’s great name in these momentous last days. We send you our warm Christian love and greetings.
'...in holding high Jehovah's great name'. What a crock! There is no other organization that brings more reproach on God's name, Jesus Christ, Christianity and the Bible than WTBTS.
Thank you Barbara for sharing.

I agree with Idrnomo. Overhead for any business is a bitch-more so when revenue is low! And I would imagine with all that property, 'God's Organization' has its' share of expenses.
Sorry WTBTS, but as my daddy used to say "The Bigger They Are The Harder They Fall!"

Funny thing Blondie: When reading the article in preparation for the meeting I couldn’t help but feel the same way as you say in your concluding comments…..
"and those attending are made to feel that their part in the kingdom is small and unnecessary."
And Bobcat: That is one hell of a good point you make regarding 1Tim 2:1-5

Will Embracing the Internet lead to Increased Growth for the Watchtower?
by jwfacts inmore important than the reduction in the size of the new magazine is that the watchtower will be actively promoting its website and encouraging people use it to download magazines.
my concern is that this has the potential to lead to an increase in growth for the watchtower.. the door-to-door preaching work has been one of the most inefficient means imaginable to gain converts, and done little more than tie up the time of active jws.
now, by directing people to the internet, witnesses can spread their message at an alarming rate for little cost.. do you feel that this has the potential to lead to a surge in growth of jehovah's witnesses?

In my mind someone ‘taking in knowledge of the WT’ via the internet will be like walking through a field of land minds. Chances are real slim that WT will realize any sort of growth due to the vast amount of anti JW material that newly interested ones will come across as they navigate their way to the JW.Org site. JWN, Youtube and other such ‘land minds’ are gonna kill the chances for sure of any new JW converts. Yepeeee! Yahoooooo!
